Hi Intrepid Eighth Grade Teachers!
Here is the promised email. I’ll be sending the Notability activity from Jonna separately. Please let me know if you have any questions. I’ll be in the gym most of the day collecting forms (my excitement abounds).
Wednesday Panther Time
- Assembly (30 min)
- Pass out iPads (10 min)
- Set passcode + change lock screen (5 min)
- Survey from Tech (30 min)

- The link will also be available on the 1:1 Program Page (not live until Wednesday morning)
- We may be tweaking this between now and Wednesday morning. The link will stay the same, but if you preview the survey, you may notice that some questions are edited.
- Students will need to sign in to their school Google accounts to take the survey. If you have a student who does not have a Google account, please make note of this so we can make sure they take it at a later date.
- MyHomework set up (15 min)

Wednesday/Thursday Classes
- Classroom norms
- “Apples Up!”
- Photo/Recording consent required
- Bring charged to last ALL DAY
- iPads on desks, not on laps
- On task/class work only
- Music only when permitted
- iPad Points —> Idea from Jason to award each student 105 iPad Points for the term. Each time a student doesn’t bring the iPad charged, forgets the iPad, or is using the iPad inappropriately in class, take five points away.
- Intro presentation + activity
- Copy of iPad Day 1 from Annie
- The Socrative activity was an exploration of Notability – this could be a Padlet, your own Google Form survey, a Book Creator activity, an app smashing/photo activity with Pic Collage, a quiz in Socrative, a Popplet brainstorm…)
